On Sunday, October 4, 2026, the Panamerican Judo Union (PJU) participated in the TAFISA World Walking Day 2026 celebration, attended by PJU President Jaime Casanova Martínez and José Rafael Suarez Morales—president of the Dominican Judo Confederation (Condojudo)—among other dignitaries.
Municipal Mayor Miguel Guarocuya Cabral, along with other local officials, welcomed the group at the July 26th Museum. They then proceeded on a walk from the museum to Cáceres Park, where the hundreds of participants were acknowledged and thanked. Afterward, the group moved to the Recreational Club, where visitors enjoyed lunch and socialized to the sound of music.
The TAFISA World Walking Day has its roots in The Association For International Sport for All (TAFISA), which launched the initiative in 1991. It has since become a true global tradition, involving more than 160 countries and millions of people.
