\"\"Santo Domingo, Rep\u00fablica Dominicana.\u2013<\/strong> Las instalaciones reci\u00e9n inauguradas de la Alcald\u00eda del Distrito Nacional, el Parque Deportivo Paseo 30 de Mayo<\/strong>, de 50.000 metros cuadrados, sirvieron como sede de la marcha del D\u00eda Ol\u00edmpico, que se celebra mundialmente el 23 de junio como una demostraci\u00f3n de deporte, salud y lucha contra el sedentarismo, promoviendo un estilo de vida saludable y activo, siempre basado en los pilares de moverse, aprender y descubrir, a la vez que se fomenta la excelencia, la amistad y el respeto.
\nEl D\u00eda Ol\u00edmpico conmemora la fundaci\u00f3n del Comit\u00e9 Ol\u00edmpico Internacional (COI) el 23 de junio de 1894 en la Sorbona de Par\u00eds, por el bar\u00f3n Pierre de Coubertin, quien concibi\u00f3 la idea de celebrar los Juegos Ol\u00edmpicos. Los primeros Juegos se celebraron en Atenas, Grecia, el 6 de abril de 1896, con Dimitrios Vikelas, de nacionalidad griega, como presidente de la organizaci\u00f3n mundial.
\nLa historia de esta celebraci\u00f3n se remonta a 1947, cuando el Dr. Josef Gruss, miembro checo del COI, present\u00f3 la idea del D\u00eda Ol\u00edmpico en la 41.\u00aa Sesi\u00f3n del Comit\u00e9 Ol\u00edmpico Internacional, celebrada en Estocolmo, Suecia. Fue en la 42.\u00aa Sesi\u00f3n del COI, en St. Moritz, Suiza, en enero de 1948, donde el proyecto de Gruss recibi\u00f3 la aprobaci\u00f3n. Los Comit\u00e9s Ol\u00edmpicos Nacionales fueron entonces los encargados de organizar este evento, y la elecci\u00f3n de la fecha marca un momento especial en la historia de esta organizaci\u00f3n deportiva mundial.
\nEl primer Dia Ol\u00edmpico se celebr\u00f3 el 23 de junio del 1948 y por consiguiente en este 2026 estamos en el 78 Aniversario con la integraci\u00f3n de m\u00e1s de 200 Comit\u00e9s Ol\u00edmpicos Nacionales, Federaciones Internacionales y sus organismos de base, as\u00ed mismo, los Ministerios e Institutos del Deporte a nivel global, Fundaciones Deportivas y organismos independientes del deporte a nivel mundial, entre otros.
\nEn la edici\u00f3n de 1978 de la Carta Ol\u00edmpica, el COI recomend\u00f3 por primera vez que todos los Comit\u00e9s Ol\u00edmpicos Nacionales organizaran el D\u00eda Ol\u00edmpico con el prop\u00f3sito expreso de promover el Movimiento Ol\u00edmpico.
\nLas organizaciones afiliadas a la Uni\u00f3n Panamericana de Judo (UPJ), junto con sus filiales nacionales, presentaron conferencias, competencias internas, ex\u00e1menes de grado y arbitraje, sesiones de pr\u00e1ctica, concursos de dibujo alusivos a la fecha ol\u00edmpica y otras actividades en sus respectivas instalaciones de entrenamiento.
\nCon motivo del D\u00eda Ol\u00edmpico de 2026, la Uni\u00f3n Panamericana de Judo (UPJ,) realiz\u00f3 una marcha en el Parque Deportivo Paseo 30 de Mayo<\/strong>, con su presidente, el ingeniero Jaime Casanova Mart\u00ednez, acompa\u00f1ado del licenciado Jos\u00e9 Rafael Suarez Morales, presidente de la Confederaci\u00f3n Dominicana de Judo (Condojudo), voluntarios y p\u00fablico en general.<\/p>\n

It promotes a healthy and active lifestyle, always based on the pillars of movement, learning, and discovery, while fostering excellence, friendship, and respect.
\nOlympic Day commemorates the founding of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on June 23, 1894, at the Sorbonne in Paris, by Baron Pierre de Coubertin, who conceived the idea of \u200b\u200bholding the Olympic Games. The first Games were held in Athens, Greece, on April 6, 1896, with Dimitrios Vikelas, a Greek national, as president of the world organization.
\nThe history of this celebration dates back to 1947, when Dr. Josef Gruss, a Czech member of the IOC, presented the idea of \u200b\u200bOlympic Day at the 41st Session of the International Olympic Committee, held in Stockholm, Sweden. It was at the 42nd IOC Session, in St. Moritz, Switzerland, in January 1948, that Gruss’s proposal received approval. The National Olympic Committees were then tasked with organizing this event, and the choice of date marks a special moment in the history of this global sports organization.
\nThe first Olympic Day was celebrated on June 23, 1948, and therefore, in 2026, we are celebrating its 78th Anniversary, with the participation of more than 200 National Olympic Committees, International Federations and their grassroots organizations, as well as Ministries and Institutes of Sport worldwide, Sports Foundations, and independent sports organizations globally, among others.
\nIn the 1978 edition of the Olympic Charter, the IOC recommended for the first time that all National Olympic Committees organize Olympic Day with the express purpose of promoting the Olympic Movement.
\nOrganizations affiliated with the Panamerican Judo Union (PJU), along with their national branches, presented conferences, internal competitions, grading and referee examinations, practice sessions, drawing contests related to the Olympic date, and other activities at their respective training facilities.
\nTo commemorate Olympic Day 2026, the Panamerican Judo Union (PJU) held a march in Paseo 30 de Mayo Sports Park, with its president, engineer Jaime Casanova Mart\u00ednez, accompanied by Jos\u00e9 Rafael Suarez Morales, president of the Dominican Judo Confederation (Condojudo), volunteers, and the general public.<\/p>\n
