The Trump Administration believes that the California Department of Education and the California Interscholastic Federation are in breach of this law.<br \/>\nThe Department of Justice has argued that California discriminates against female athletes by \u00abdenying them equal\u00bb educational and sporting opportunities guaranteed by federal civil rights law. As a consequence, the agency is threatening to withdraw federal education funding from California and to impose sanctions.
