\"\"Santo Domingo, Republica Dominicana.-<\/b> Es una verdadera tradicion cada 6 de abril celebramos el Dia Internacional del Deporte para el Desarrollo y la Paz que inicio a partir del 2014 de manera que estamos en la doceava version.
\nPara el 2013 la Organizacion de las Naciones Unidas (ONU), proclamo el 6 de abril como el Dia Internacional del Deporte para el Desarrollo y la Paz, en conmemoracion de la fecha en la que se celebraron los I Juegos Olimpicos de la Era Moderna en Atenas, Grecia y que fueron inaugurados por el Rey Jorge I en el estadio Panathinaiko.<\/div>\n
El mas importante objetivo de este dia es concientizar a la poblacion sobre el papel del deporte en la promocion de los derechos humanos y el desarrollo social y economico de los paises que este a\u00f1o tiene como tema:\u00a0Igualar las condiciones: Deporte para la inclusi\u00f3n social.
\n<\/strong>\"\"El tema de este a\u00f1o busca desafiar los estereotipos, promover la igualdad de oportunidades y facilitar el deporte inclusivo para todos, independientemente de su edad, g\u00e9nero o raza. Destaca el papel del deporte como fuerza unificadora que fomenta la inclusi\u00f3n y sociedades m\u00e1s equitativas, a la vez que constituye una poderosa plataforma de di\u00e1logo para combatir los prejuicios e inspirar un cambio positivo en todo el mundo.<\/a>
\nPara conmemorar el D\u00eda Internacional, se celebrar\u00e1 un evento en la Sede de las Naciones Unidas en Nueva York, en colaboraci\u00f3n con la Misi\u00f3n Permanente del Principado de M\u00f3naco, la Misi\u00f3n Permanente del Estado de Qatar, el Departamento de Asuntos Econ\u00f3micos y Sociales, el Departamento de Comunicaci\u00f3n Global y ONU Mujeres.
\n\"\"El evento brindar\u00e1 la oportunidad de entablar debates enriquecedores sobre temas interrelacionados como el deporte, la igualdad de g\u00e9nero, el envejecimiento saludable y la igualdad racial.
\nEstas son las iniciativas de las Naciones Unidas que a\u00f1o tras a\u00f1o desde 2014 respalda y promueve esta celebraci\u00f3n de car\u00e1cter mundial la que fue aprobada por su Asamblea General el 23 de agosto 2013 mediante resoluci\u00f3n A\/RES\/67\/296 de la sesi\u00f3n plenaria numero 96.
\nLa Uni\u00f3n Panamericana de Judo (UPJ) se integra plenamente a la celebraci\u00f3n de esta fecha con actividades en los diferentes pa\u00edses de Am\u00e9rica que son parte del organismo continental y este a\u00f1o resaltando el lema que nos indica las Naciones Unidad de \u00ab<\/strong>Igualar las condiciones: Deporte para la inclusi\u00f3n social\u00bb

\nSanto Domingo, Dominican Republic.\u2013<\/strong> Every April 6th, we celebrate the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, a true tradition. It began in 2014, so we are now in its twelfth year.
\nIn 2013, the United Nations (UN) proclaimed April 6th as the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, in commemoration of the date on which the First Olympic Games of the Modern Era were held in Athens, Greece, and inaugurated by King George I at the Panathenaic Stadium.
\nThe most important objective of this day is to raise awareness about the role of sport in promoting human rights and the social and economic development of countries. This year’s theme is: Leveling the Playing Field: Sport for Social Inclusion.
\nThis year’s theme seeks to challenge stereotypes, promote equal opportunities, and facilitate inclusive sport for all, regardless of age, gender, or race. It highlights the role of sport as a unifying force that fosters inclusion and more equitable societies, while also providing a powerful platform for dialogue to combat prejudice and inspire positive change around the world.
\nTo commemorate the International Day, an event will be held at United Nations Headquarters in New York, in collaboration with the Permanent Mission of the Principality of Monaco, the Permanent Mission of the State of Qatar, the Department of Economic and Social Affairs, the Department of Global Communications, and UN Women.
\nThe event will provide an opportunity for enriching discussions on interrelated topics such as sport, gender equality, healthy aging, and racial equality.
\nThese are the United Nations initiatives that have supported and promoted this global celebration year after year since 2014. The United Nations General Assembly approved this celebration on August 23, 2013, through resolution A\/RES\/67\/296 of its 96th plenary session.
\nThe Panamerican Judo Union (PJU) fully participates in the celebration of this date with activities in the various countries of the Americas that are part of the continental organization, and this year, it is highlighting the UN motto of \u00abLeveling the Playing Field: Sport for Social Inclusion.\u00bb
