\"\"Santo Domingo, Republica Dominicana.-<\/strong> Sin duda alguna el Gran Maestri Jigoro Kano (1860 \u2013 1938),es uno de los maestros mas influyentes que tuvo y tienen las Artes Marciales de cualquier pa\u00eds y es que con la creaci\u00f3n del judo influy\u00f3 de manera muy significativa en la creaci\u00f3n y difusi\u00f3n de otras disciplinas.
\nY es que desde la fundaci\u00f3n de la World Judo Federation (WJF) en Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, el 26 de agosto 2011, oportunidad en que la Uni\u00f3n Panamericana de Judo (UPJ) tuvo un papel estelar, se instituy\u00f3 la fecha del nacimiento del Gran Maestro como el Dia Internacional de Jigoro Kano<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0cada 28 de octubre.
\nAhora arribamos a la catorce celebraci\u00f3n de este\u00a0Dia Internacional de Jigoro Kano<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0para rememorar la existencia de quien en vida fund\u00f3 el Kodokan en 1882 y que fue un gran fil\u00e1ntropo teniendo como valiosas virtudes la educaci\u00f3n y la pedagog\u00eda.
\nCon la fundaci\u00f3n del Kodokan en 1882 el Gran Maestro Kano buscaba, entre otras cosas, diferenciar el judo de otras artes marciales y as\u00ed tener su propia filosof\u00eda como una forma de vida lo que prevalece hasta nuestros d\u00edas en la forma tradicional de la disciplina.
\nEsto as\u00ed porque el\u00a0\u00abcamino de la suavidad\u00bb,<\/strong> es el verdadero significado de la palabra judo, por lo que Kano estableci\u00f3 un pensum para la ense\u00f1anza de esta disciplina acorde con ser un valorado educador de profesi\u00f3n.
\nDe su matrimonio con Sumoko Tabezae en 1891 nacen ocho hijos, cinco mujeres y tres varones, siendo nombrado en 1987 Director de la Escuela del Magisterio de Tokio.
\nRisei Kano, uno de los tres hijos del creador del Judo, fue el segundo presidente de la Federaci\u00f3n Internacional de Judo (FIJ), de 1952 a 1965 y dirigi\u00f3 el Kodokan desde 1946 hasta 1980, cuando fue sucedido por Yukimitsu Kano.
\nEl ayuntamiento de Tokio lo selecciono al Gran Maestro para desarrollar la candidatura de esa ciudad nipona para lograr los Juegos Ol\u00edmpicos de 1940 lo que fue una tarea dif\u00edcil pues Jap\u00f3n estaba en guerra con China y esta solicitud era mal vista.
\nA pesar de eso Kano se emple\u00f3 a fondo realizando viajes y reuniones en diferentes pa\u00edses con un esfuerzo extraordinario, lo que resquebraj\u00f3 su salud para fallecer el 4 de mayo de 1938 en el vapor Hikawa-Maru cuando regresaba a Jap\u00f3n.
\nEs obvio que los Juegos Ol\u00edmpicos de 1940 y 1944 asignados a Tokio y a Londres no se realizaron por la escalada b\u00e9lica que recibi\u00f3 el nombre de la Segunda Guerra Mundial donde Jap\u00f3n e Inglaterra tuvieron papeles estelares.
\nAl momento de su deceso Kano era Miembro del Comit\u00e9 Ol\u00edmpico Internacional representando a esa organizaci\u00f3n mundial en el Imperio del Sol Naciente y Reino de Crisantemo, Jap\u00f3n.
\n\"\"Este\u00a0Dia Internacional de Jigoro Kano<\/strong><\/em>, en el 164 aniversario de su nacimiento ha sido apropiado para que las organizaciones afiliadas a la Uni\u00f3n Panamericana de Judo realicen charlas sobre la vida de Jigoro Kano, caminatas en su honor, intercambios deportivos, presentaci\u00f3n de galer\u00edas de afiches y fotograf\u00edas, en fin, cuanto sirva para recordar al Gran Maestro.<\/h3>\n

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.-<\/strong> Without a doubt, Grand Master Jigoro Kano (1860 \u2013 1938) is one of the most influential masters that martial arts in any country had and have, and with the creation of judo he significantly influenced the creation and diffusion of other disciplines.
\nAnd since the founding of the World Judo Federation (WJF) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on August 26, 2011, an opportunity in which the Panamerican Judo Union (PJU) played a stellar role, the date of the birth of the Grand Master was established as the International Day of Jigoro Kano every October 28.
\nNow we arrive at the fourteenth celebration of this International Day of Jigoro Kano to commemorate the existence of the man who founded the Kodokan in 1882 and who was a great philanthropist with valuable virtues such as education and pedagogy.
\nWith the founding of the Kodokan in 1882, Grandmaster Kano sought, among other things, to differentiate judo from other martial arts and thus have his own philosophy as a way of life, which prevails to this day in the traditional form of the discipline.
\nThis is because the \u00abpath of gentleness\u00bb is the true meaning of the word judo, so Kano established a curriculum for the teaching of this discipline in accordance with being a valued educator by profession.
\nFrom his marriage to Sumoko Tabezae in 1891, eight children were born, five girls and three boys, and in 1987 he was named Director of the Tokyo Teachers’ College.
\nRisei Kano, one of the three sons of the creator of Judo, was the second president of the International Judo Federation (IJF), from 1952 to 1965 and headed the Kodokan from 1946 to 1980, when he was succeeded by Yukimitsu Kano.
\nThe Tokyo City Council selected the Grand Master to develop the candidacy of that Japanese city to achieve the 1940 Olympic Games, which was a difficult task because Japan was at war with China and this request was frowned upon.
\nDespite this, Kano worked hard making trips and meetings in different countries with extraordinary effort, which weakened his health and he died on May 4, 1938 on the steamer Hikawa-Maru when he returned to Japan.
\nIt is obvious that the 1940 and 1944 Olympic Games assigned to Tokyo and London were not held due to the escalation of the war that was called the Second World War, in which Japan and England played leading roles.
\nAt the time of his death, Kano was a member of the International Olympic Committee representing that world organization in the Empire of the Rising Sun and the Kingdom of Chrysanthemum, Japan.
\nThis International Jigoro Kano Day, on the 164th anniversary of his birth, has been an appropriate time for the organizations affiliated with the Panamerican Judo Union to hold talks on the life of Jigoro Kano, walks in his honor, sports exchanges, presentation of galleries of posters and photographs, in short, whatever serves to remember the Grand Master.
