8 octubre \/ They announce the celebration of the Panamerican Judo Day in its 68th Anniversary (1952-2020) &#8211; 8th October.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>SANTO DOMINGO, Rep\u00fablica Dominicana<\/strong>.-\u00a0El Comit\u00e9 Ejecutivo de la Uni\u00f3n Panamericana de Judo (UPJ) anuncia la celebraci\u00f3n del LXVIII Aniversario de existencia de la entidad continental que se fund\u00f3 el La Habana, Cuba el 8 octubre 1952.<\/p>\n<p>Es justo rememorar la historia con los personajes y pa\u00edses que posibilitaron la formaci\u00f3n de la estructura dirigencial de la disciplina que en 1882 fund\u00f3 el maestro Jigoro Kano.<\/p>\n<p>De esta manera le correspondi\u00f3 al doctor Carlos de Lejarza, cubano, la presidencia de la reci\u00e9n creada entidad bajo la sombrilla de la ense\u00f1anza del Instituto del Kodokan.<\/p>\n<p>Las vicepresidencias fueron ocupadas por Donn Draegger, Bernard Gauthier y Carlos Ch\u00e1vez en representaci\u00f3n de Estados Unidos, Canad\u00e1 y Argentina, respectivamente.<\/p>\n<p>De otra parte el doctor Miguel Porcel de Cuba y Masato Tamura de los Estados Unidos desempe\u00f1aron las posiciones de tesorero y jefe de \u00e1rbitros en ese mismo orden.<\/p>\n<p>Un personaje que no ocupo puesto alguno en la composici\u00f3n del primer Comit\u00e9 Ejecutivo y que fue una figura clave correspondi\u00f3 al profesor Andres Kolychine que para la \u00e9poca se desempe\u00f1aba como Director T\u00e9cnico de la Federaci\u00f3n Cubana de Judo.<\/p>\n<p>Claramente pa\u00edses como Argentina, Canad\u00e1, Cuba y los Estados Unidos se constituyeron en los fundadores de la organizaci\u00f3n continental que regir\u00eda el judo en Am\u00e9rica.<\/p>\n<p>La Uni\u00f3n Panamericana de Judo en a\u00f1os recientes selecciono al doctor Carlos de Lejarza y a Bernard Gauthier para el Sal\u00f3n de la Fama del Judo Panamericano elev\u00e1ndolos a la inmortalidad deportiva.<\/p>\n<p>Previo al 1952 en los Estados Unidos contaban con varios centros para la pr\u00e1ctica del arte marcial que fund\u00f3 Jigoro Kano en 1882 los que estaban representados en la Uni\u00f3n Atl\u00e9tica Amateur.<\/p>\n<p>Por otro lado Canad\u00e1 dispon\u00eda de una importante cantidad de centros agrupados en federaciones, algunos independientes y otros vinculados al Instituto del Kodokan.<\/p>\n<p>Para Brasil con una amplia inmigraci\u00f3n japonesa producto de la finalizaci\u00f3n de la lI Guerra Mundial lo que le permiti\u00f3 asimilar a calificados expertos del arte marcial de origen japon\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>Cada pa\u00eds del continente americano tiene su propia historia de la llegada del judo como es el caso de Venezuela, Costa Rica, Argentina, Rep\u00fablica Dominicana, Chile, Colombia, Panama, entre otros.<\/p>\n<p>La llegada y expansi\u00f3n del judo permiti\u00f3 que grandes figuras a nivel pol\u00edtico, deportivo, dirigencial, etc., trascendieran a nivel mundial.<\/p>\n<p>La Uni\u00f3n Panamericana de Judo (UPJ) tiene en su haber gran cantidad de Campeones Mundiales y Ol\u00edmpicos en estos 68 a\u00f1os, 1952-2020.<\/p>\n<p>El Comit\u00e9 Ejecutivo de la Uni\u00f3n Panamericana de Judo est\u00e1 conformado de la siguiente manera:<\/p>\n<p>Jaime Casanova Martinez &#8211; Presidente (Rep\u00fablica Dominicana)<\/p>\n<p>Luiz Pavani &#8211; Vicepresidente (Brasil)<\/p>\n<p>Pablo Cosentino &#8211; Secretario (Argentina)<\/p>\n<p>Edgar Claure &#8211; Tesorero (Bolivia)<\/p>\n<p>Lizardo Suazo &#8211; Director Arbitraje (Chile)<\/p>\n<p>Galileo Paolo &#8211; Director Deportivo (Brasil)<\/p>\n<p>Jorge Vallejos &#8211; Director de Gesti\u00f3n (Chile)<\/p>\n<p>\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014<\/p>\n<h2>They announce the celebration of the Pananamerican Judo Day in its 68th Anniversary (1952-2020) &#8211; October 8.<\/h2>\n<p>SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic.- The Executive Committee of the Panamerican Judo Union (UPJ) announces the celebration of the LXVIII Anniversary of the existence of the continental entity that was founded in Havana, Cuba on October 8, 1952.<\/p>\n<p>It is fair to recall history with the characters and countries that made possible the formation of the leadership structure of the discipline founded in 1882 by the master Jigoro Kano.<\/p>\n<p>In this way, Dr. Carlos de Lejarza, a Cuban, was assigned the presidency of the newly created entity under the umbrella of the teaching of the Kodokan Institute.<\/p>\n<p>The vice presidencies were held by Donn Draegger, Bernard Gauthier and Carlos Ch\u00e1vez representing the United States, Canada and Argentina, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, Dr. Miguel Porcel from Cuba and Masato Tamura from the United States held the positions of treasurer and chief arbitrator in the same order.<\/p>\n<p>A character who did not occupy any position in the composition of the first Executive Committee and who was a key figure corresponded to Professor Andres Kolychine, who at the time was serving as Technical Director of the Cuban Judo Federation.<\/p>\n<p>Clearly, countries like Argentina, Canada, Cuba and the United States became the founders of the continental organization that would govern judo in America.<\/p>\n<p>The Panamerican Judo Union (PJU) in recent years selected Dr. Carlos de Lejarza and Bernard Gauthier for the Panamerican Judo Hall of Fame elevating them to sports immortality.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to 1952, the United States had several centers for the practice of martial art that Jigoro Kano founded in 1882, which were represented in the Amateur Athletic Union.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, Canada had a significant number of centers grouped into federations, some independent and others linked to the Kodokan Institute.<\/p>\n<p>For Brazil, with extensive Japanese immigration as a result of the end of World War II, which allowed it to assimilate qualified experts of the martial art of Japanese origin.<\/p>\n<p>Each country on the American continent has its own history of the arrival of judo, such as Venezuela, Costa Rica, Argentina, the Dominican Republic, Chile, Colombia, Panama, among others.<\/p>\n<p>The arrival and expansion of judo allowed great figures at the political, sports, leadership, etc., level to transcend worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>The Panamerican Judo Union (PJU) has to its credit a large number of World and Olympic Champions in these 68 years, 1952-2020.<\/p>\n<p>The Executive Committee of the Panamerican Judo Union is made up of the following:<\/p>\n<p>Jaime Casanova Martinez &#8211;
