THE ORIGIN OF APRIL6<\/strong><\/p>\n

On 23 August 2013 the UN General Assembly with the support of the International Olympic Committee declared April 6th as the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace (IDSDP) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.<\/p>\n

\nThis decision represented a historic step in recognizing the transformative power of sport and its boundless potential to advance positive social change.<\/p>\n

There are two ways to get involved.<\/p>\n

EL ORIGEN DE ABRIL6<\/strong>
\nEl 23 de agosto de 2013, la Asamblea General de la ONU con el apoyo del Comit\u00e9 Ol\u00edmpico Internacional declar\u00f3 el 6 de abril como el D\u00eda Internacional del Deporte para el Desarrollo y la Paz (IDSDP) en la sede de las Naciones Unidas en Nueva York.<\/p>\n

Esta decisi\u00f3n represent\u00f3 un paso hist\u00f3rico para reconocer el poder transformador del deporte y su potencial ilimitado para avanzar en un cambio social positivo.
\nHay dos formas de involucrarse.<\/p>\n

EVENTS APRIL 6<\/strong>
\nOne of them is to organize an action or event and register on the organized platform
\nwww.april6.org<\/a>
\nRegistering the affected global exposure project, joining an active alliance of 3456 global initiatives and could potentially win the April 6 Initiative of the Year Award at the International Forum on Peace and Sport<\/p>\n

\nUna de ellas es organizar una acci\u00f3n o evento y registrarlo en la plataforma dedicada\u00a0www.april6.org<\/a>
\nAl registro del proyecto obtendr\u00e1 exposici\u00f3n global, uni\u00e9ndose a una alianza activa de 3456 iniciativas mundiales y potencialmente podr\u00eda ganar el Premio a la Iniciativa del A\u00f1o del 6 de abril en el Foro Internacional de Paz y Deporte.<\/p>\n

WHITE CARD<\/strong>
\nThe #WhiteCard is a worldwide digital campaign created by Peace and Sport that promotes the positive and constructive values of sport. Every year the #WhiteCard campaign reaches millions of people through social media. Holding up a #WhiteCard, just like a referee, has been recognized as the symbol of the peace-through-sport movement.<\/p>\n

In contrast to the red card, which signifies the most serious offense in sport, the #WhiteCard is a gesture of inclusion, equality and peace. Symbolically, the #WhiteCard enables sport organizations, international institutions, governments, athletes and civil society to take action and promote themselves within the sport-for-development-and-peace movement and identify themselves as being socially aware and committed.<\/p>\n

CARTA BLANCA (WhiteCard)<\/strong>
\nLa #WhiteCard es una campa\u00f1a digital mundial creada por Peace and Sport que promueve los valores positivos y constructivos del deporte. Cada a\u00f1o, la campa\u00f1a #WhiteCard llega a millones de personas a trav\u00e9s de las redes sociales. Sostener una #WhiteCard, al igual que un \u00e1rbitro, ha sido reconocido como el s\u00edmbolo del movimiento de paz a trav\u00e9s del deporte. En contraste con la tarjeta roja, que significa la ofensa m\u00e1s grave en el deporte, la #WhiteCard es un gesto de inclusi\u00f3n, igualdad y paz. Simb\u00f3licamente, la #WhiteCard permite que organizaciones deportivas, instituciones internacionales, gobiernos, atletas y la sociedad civil tomen medidas y se promuevan dentro del movimiento de deporte para el desarrollo y la paz y se identifiquen como socialmente conscientes y comprometidos.<\/p>\n

Benefits for development and for peace<\/strong>
\nSport offers many benefits, including individual development, health promotion and disease prevention, gender equality, social integration, peace-building or conflict prevention\/resolution and post-disaster\/trauma assistance. From a development perspective, the goal is to enhance mass sport, not elite sport.<\/p>\n

Beneficios para el desarrollo y para la paz.<\/strong>
\nEl deporte ofrece muchos beneficios, que incluyen el desarrollo individual, la promoci\u00f3n de la salud y la prevenci\u00f3n de enfermedades, la igualdad de g\u00e9nero, la integraci\u00f3n social, la consolidaci\u00f3n de la paz o la prevenci\u00f3n \/ resoluci\u00f3n de conflictos y la asistencia post-desastre \/ trauma.
